Off and on for over 30 years I have been involved with HAWC-Healing Abuse Working for Change.   I have been a hot-line volunteer, a legal court advocate and an employee with HAWC. I can tell you first hand that the need for HAWC is huge. 

HAWC provides it's services in 23 cities and towns here on the North Shore.  The services include a 24hr hotline, Community & School education, Support Groups, Legal Advocacy, Hospital Advocacy, Children's Services and operates a Emergency Family Shelter.

Did you know that in the United States, an average of 20 people are believed to be abused by intimate partners every minute? And, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been physically abused by an intimate partner.  Domestic violence occurs across all social and economic lines- you most likely know someone or have experienced DV yourself.

Once again I be participating in the Virtual Walk for HAWC.  Sometime  between Saturday, May 8 - Sunday, May 23 this year I will set off with Team Luna to walk and raise funds and awareness for HAWC.
