Hello friends and famiy!
I want to tell you a little about the Foundation For Allen Schools....an organization close to my heart!
I served on the Foundation For Allen Schools Board of Directors for 6 years in addition to serving on the Allen ISD School Board and am still an active volunteer at the Foundation. Most recently I've been co-charing the annual fall gala- our party with a purpose which is one of our most successful fund raisers each year.
The Foundation funds three programs the two largest are funding grants for teachers in thier classrooms and scholarships for Allen High School seniors graudating and heading off to college. I got to see first hand the difference the help provided our teachers and students as well.
All three of my boys spent thier Kindergarten - 12th grade years here in Allen and I have been involved since the beginning in groups who support education including: PTA, Project Kids, YSL, Junior League and the school board but found the work done on behalf of the Foundation to be near and dear to my heart for supporting both teachers and students.
The Foundation is facing, like so many non-profits and business, a strange and challenging year due to Covid. We are unable to have our largest and most successful fund rasing events and yet still want to provide the classroom grants and scholarships we've been providing for close to 25 years. We have set a community challenge of raising $100,000 by October 5th to help offset our Fall gala and riase the funds needed to continue our grant and scholarship programs.
Would you help me meet my personal goal of $1,800? Gifts of any size make all the difference. Here in Allen we are one community working to make tomorrow better. I believe in our community, I believe in our Eagles!
