How to enter the Pet Contests

Now's the time to enter our annual Walk For The Animals contests:

Best Trick, Best Dressed, Best Look Alike, and Best Kiss!

Being virtual won't stop us! Our panel of esteemed judges will discuss and declare winners via Zoom, and we will share the results online on May 29th during our live Walk For The Animals broadcast!

Does your pet have what it takes to win? Here's how to submit your fabulous entry. Send us pictures or videos (no longer than 10 seconds, please) to devassist@apsofdurham.org to enter your pet. ALL pets are welcome in the contest, not just dogs! Please make the subject line of your email the category you are entering, and please include your pet's name and any other important information for the judges in your email. You can also comment with your entry on each contest's Facebook or Instagram posts that will be shared next week.

We are accepting entries for all contest categories through

Sunday, May 9th at midnight.

Our 2021 Walk For the Animals contest Judges
 
We're excited to announce our contest judges for the 2021 Walk For The Animals!

 

Kristin Cooper, pet lover and the First Lady of NC, will be joined by Corporal Lafferty of Durham PD, local renowned drag queen Stormy Dai, Animal Services Officer Melinda Hester of the Durham Sheriff's Department, Maliah Cherry (10 year old newest APS volunteer), and Spot E Dog, the Animal Protection Society of Durham canine mascot. Our moderator for the panel is Tara Lynn.

Pet Contest categories:

Best Dressed: Dress your pet in their cutest, sassiest or craziest outfit for a chance to win!

Best Trick:  Does your pet have a hidden talent?  Or a not so 'hidden' talent?  Send us a video showing us your talented animal!

Best Look Alike:  Have you been told you and your pet look alike?  Do you dress alike? Do you have the same hairstyle?  If so, this contest is for you!

Best Kisser:  Nothing says "I love you" like a big slobbery kiss from your favorite furry pet!  Be sure to get it on camera or video so we can be the judge of the top smoocher!
