We’re dancers at Miller Street Dance Academy, and we’re so excited to be part of this year’s “Wigging Out” fundraiser in support of Carolina Breast Friends. Dance has always been about more than just movement—it’s about community, connection, and supporting one another. That’s why this fundraiser is so important to us.

Breast cancer has impacted so many people—whether it’s family, friends, or members of our community. Being part of this fundraiser gives us the opportunity to help make a difference for those who are going through something incredibly difficult.

My name is Madeline. I am 9 years old and am in 4th grade. I LOVE dancing at Miller Street Dance Academy. I have been here for 7 years and have been on the competition team for 3. Dance makes me happy, makes me strong, and makes me more confident every day. Not only does MSDA teach me dance but it teaches me the importance of being a part of my community and help make a difference where we can! Tap is my favorite form of dance but I also love to dance in broadway heels....I really love Jazz and being sassy on stage!
My name is Quinn. I am 4 years old and in preschool. I also LOVE dancing at Miller Street Dance Academy. I have been here for 2 years and love being a part of such a happy place. I love to dance with my sister and my friends. Jazz is my favorite but I also love to tap!
Why We Said Yes to Wiggin Out
This fundraiser is extra special to our studio because our owner, Michelle, is an 18-year breast cancer survivor. Her story has shown us how life can change in an instant—but also how powerful love, support, and community can be during the hardest times.
Her story inspires us to be part of something bigger—coming together, giving back, and supporting others in a fun and meaningful way. We’re proud to help spread awareness and make a difference!
Look For Our Pink Hair
As part of this fundraiser, we’ll be wearing a pink hair extension (“wiglet”) throughout the month of April to help raise awareness and start conversations.
