Hi, I'm Leah!

I’m a dancer at Miller Street Dance Academy, and I’m so excited to be part of this year’s “Wigging Out” fundraiser in support of Carolina Breast Friends. Dance has always been about more than just movement—it’s about community, connection, and supporting one another. That’s why this fundraiser is so important to me.

Why This Matters to Me

Breast cancer has impacted so many people—whether it’s family, friends, or members of our community. Being part of this fundraiser gives me the opportunity to help make a difference for those who are going through something incredibly difficult.

Organizations like Carolina Breast Friends provide support, encouragement, and a sense of community for those facing a diagnosis—and that kind of support truly matters.

A Little About Me

Hi, I’m fundraising for a cause that means everything to me!

My name is Leah, I’m 11 years old, and I love dancing, art, and music. I’ve been dancing with Miller Street Dance Company since I was 3 years old, and this year is extra special because it’s my first year on the competition team!

But this year is also special for another reason. I’m raising money for The Pink House and Carolina Breast Friends — two amazing organizations right here in Charlotte that support people impacted by breast cancer. This cause is really important to me because two of my grandmothers are breast cancer survivors — and thrivers! Knowing what they’ve been through makes me want to do everything I can to help others going through the same thing.

I know that any little bit helps, and I truly hope you’ll consider supporting this cause with me. Every dollar goes toward making sure people in our community get the love and support they need.

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!

Why I Said Yes to Wiggin Out

This fundraiser is extra special to our studio because our owner, Michelle, is an 18-year breast cancer survivor. Her story has shown us how life can change in an instant—but also how powerful love, support, and community can be during the hardest times.

Her story inspires us to be part of something bigger—coming together, giving back, and supporting others in a fun and meaningful way. We’re proud to help spread awareness and make a difference!

Look For My Pink Hair

As part of this fundraiser, I’ll be wearing a pink hair extension (“wiglet”) throughout the month of April to help raise awareness and start conversations.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps provide support to those who need it most. Together, we can make a meaningful impact.

If you’d like to help, you can:

  • Make a donation to my page
  • Share my fundraiser with others
  • Help spread awareness

This is about coming together as a community and turning support into action.

If you believe in helping others feel supported…
If you believe in the power of community…
If you believe no one should face breast cancer alone…

I would love your support. Let’s Wig Out—and make a difference together!
