At the end of each year, I reflect on where my time, energy and money have gone. How have I grown? Has my business grown? Have my relationships grown? Where do I want to put my time, energy and finances in the next year?
As I pray and meditate over where I've been and listen for where I'm headed, I choose a word to help guide my actions. For 2019, I chose the word build. I recently moved back to Central Florida after twenty years in Dallas and then Chicago. It is time for me to build a new network of friends, a new level in my business and a new home for my little family.
My mom asked me if I would like to join her and a group of women in building a home with Habitat for Humanity this Spring.
The project was so in line with my values I couldn't say No. Habitat for Humanity is a highly rated charity giving people not only a home, but educating them in how to care for it and pay for it. The homeowner and her children will be working with us to build their new space! My Dad and my husband had both spent days with Habitat in the past, but I personally had never taken part. This home will be built by women. The volunteers are groups of women empowered to know they can build things and raise money! I love that about this particular project.
Our team goal is to raise $10,500 and my personal goal is to raise $350! If you feel moved to contribute to the cause - please do! I'm excited to share my experience working on this project with all of you.
