Registration Questions

How many players are allowed on a team?

Each team's table has a maximum of 10 seats

 

Is there a registration fee to play?

No. Instead of a team registration fee, each team commits to one of two fundraising goals

Champion Team minimum fundraising goal of $1500 early bird ($1600 after Sunday, September 24th)

Regular Team minimum fundraising goal of $550 early bird ($650 after Sunday, September 24th)

In order for a team to participate, they must raise their minimum by Monday October 23 at 5:00PM. Of course, since this is a fundraising event for kids involved with the Children's Aid Foundation of Ottawa, you are encouraged to raise more than the minimum requirement! ;)

 

When does registration close?

Registration closes on Monday, October 23rd at 5:00PM.

What is the difference between the team participation levels?

  • The "Champion Team" has more benefits and perks

    • Requirements to Receive Team Benefits:
      • Raise $1,500 by the Early Bird deadline, or $1600 after Sept. 24th
    • Team Benefits:
      • Exclusive Team Access to KiSS 105.3 VIP Lounge for Complimentary Pub Buffet and Entertainment
      • Exclusive Access to the Bar
      • Doors Open for Your Team at 5:30 pm
      • Exclusive Entry to Trivia Hall

      • For every additional $250 raised, 1 entry into the Team Pledge Draws

Regular Team

    • Requirements to Receive Team Benefits:
      • Raise $550 by the Early Bird deadline, or $650 after the Sept. 24th

      • 2 team entries (minimum) into the Team Pledge Draws
      • Eligible to win first place Trong Nguyen Memorial Trophy (only Champion Teams are eligible to win Top Trivia Team Prizes)
      • Eligible to win Top Fundraising Team Prizes
 
Will there be Food & Drinks?
 
Yes! What is trivia without pub food? Beverages and snacks will be available for purchase during the event from the bar, concession stands and snack carts. (No pre-ordered food items this year.)
 
All Champion Teams will enjoy complimentary pub food prior to the event in the VIP lounge. Doors at 5:30 pm and gives Champion Teams a chance to get together before the event.

 

Accessing the Event

 

How will my team answer the trivia questions?

Trivia answers will be submitted through Google Forms on an iPad provided to your team at the event. Only one member from each team is required to submit their team's answers. We suggest you choose who will be responsible for this before the event begins.

 

Will the event be scored lived? Where can I find the results?

Yes, this event is scored live. You will be able to see your team’s trivia standing during the event. You can view the live scores on www.WorldTriviaNight.com starting at 7:00PM on October 27th.    

 

Where is the event this year?  

Shaw Centre

Please note: The Shaw Centre is cashless!  Methods of payment are google pay, apple pay, tap and go, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Union Pay, JCB and Interac

No outside food our beverages permitted in the Shaw Centre.

 

Donations & Prizing

Where does the money raised at this event go?

Proceeds raised at World Trivia Night support vulnerable children, youth and familes involved with The Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa (CASO). Click the About Us menu tab to learn more about how our organization, the Children’s Aid Foundation of Ottawa, supports the kids involved with CASO.

 

Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?

Yes. All monetary donations are eligible for an official charitable tax receipt. You will receive your tax receipt by email once your donation has been processed.

 

How does my team become eligible to win Top Fundraising Team prizes?

All donations received by Friday, October 27th at 6:00pm will count towards crowning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Top Fundraising Teams. You can view the prizes for Top Fundraising Teams by clicking the Prizing menu tab above.

 

What is the deadline for submitting our minimum fundraising committment?

All donations should be received by Friday, October 20th to meet your minimum fundraising goal, e.g. $550 for a Regular Team and $1500 for a Champion Team.

 

Who is eligible to win Top Trivia Team? What happens if there is a tie?

All registered Champion Teams are eligible to be crowned 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place Top Trivia Team. In the event of a tie for 1st place, there will be a tie breaking question.

 

Can I get a refund if I change my mind?

No refunds will be provided, as this is a fundraising event for charity.
