Alas, I am recovering from surgery and need to miss Write-a-thon this year.

Listen! Between the lines
of what’s familiar,
the songs you think you know,
lies an island
where moonlit houses sleep,
and waves, shimmering and curling
like serpents’ scales,
slither up the beach and back.
Hwæt!
Beyond the silver-tipped heaths,
in a bog-hollow of the woods so dark
no light can unlock it,
another story stirs.

I write fiction for young people and poetry, sometimes at the same time. My current project is a YA novel in verse. It's a tiny bit spooky.
