My Write-a-thon Information!

This is my first Write-a-Thon! I am excited to be here.

My Writing Goals

My goal is to write one chapter per week for my 5 book chapter book series. As of the Write-A-Thon start date, I am about halfway through the first draft of Book 2. 

Excerpt from Book Two, Equation Explorers

“You don’t want to be tardy, late, unpunctual!” continued Mr. Garner.

“Maybe he should’ve named himself Mr. Synonym,” Luke said, shaking his hair out of his eyes.

“I like synonym,” announced Gordon. “I like it on toast with butter.”

“Uh, that’s cinnamon,” said Luke.

“Shhh,” whispered KeonWoo, poking Luke in the arm. “Let’s go!”
 

Writing Progress

What I Write

I write science fiction and fantasy for kids and adults.

The series I'm currently working on is about three brothers who meet an odd robot & a kind old man who join them for adventures aboard a very unusual train. I describe it as "The Magic Schoolbus meets Wrinkle in Time". Seatbelts everybody? We're about to cross through dimensions!

The working titles use alliteration to identify letters that make an anagram. Can you guess what it is?
Book One: T. Rex Trouble (T)
Book Two: Equation Explorers (E)
Book Three: Uncanny Unknown (U)
Book Four: Quantum Quandary (Q)

Book Five: The title is a surprise, and the letter is S. 

 

 

Publications List

My short stories have been published in Bright Flash Literary Review, Ranfurly Review and elsewhere. In 2008, one of my stories was a finalist for Glimmertrain’s Short Story Award. In 2017,  I was the proud recipient of a Writing the Other Sentient Squid Scholarship. My nonfiction includes several bylined articles for the sustainability science company Oak Services, LLC, countless uncredited plans and manuals for environmental remediation projects, and some anonymous web articles (shhhh).
