I'm working on a series of interlocking short stories. I want to get three of these ready for submission during this write a thon.
Writing Sample
They passed under a natural archway and entered the protected bay where a small quay stood carved from the living stone of the isle. The archway and the bay gave this island its name, Pass-on-Through. She had stepped carefully onto the stone, shouldered her pack and sleeping furs and made her goodbyes. Jansom waved from the skiff as he adjusted the sails to catch the winds. A fourteen night here, then on to the next isle. Sjávar smiled, looking around, the sun on her face, the wind tugging at her tightly plaited braids escaping from her hooded scarf.
Sunset would come within hours, and the grey cloudbank over the sea boded a night of rain. She could hear the honking chatter and calls of the seabirds as they returned from their migrations to their cliffside nests.
