Frequently Asked Questions

Registration Questions

How do I register?

You can register online here. You can also register day-of. Registration is $25.00 in advance, and $35.00 at the door. Walkers under 18 are free.

I can't make it right at 7am, can I still attend?

Absolutely! The kick-off ceremony starts at 7:30am in the main rotunda, but you are welcome to come anytime between 7am-9:30am, however the event promptly ends at 10am to allow Mall staff to spend Thanksgiving with their families.

I'm going to be out of town for Thanksgiving, but I'd still love to participate. How can I?

If you aren't able to make it to the event, register as a "Sleep Walker"! The Sleep Walker registration option allows you to register, and fundraise all while spending the morning in bed. The registration fee for Sleep Walkers is the same as our day of pricing, $35.

Can I use the same log-in that I had for last years' registration?

The Walk to End Hunger website has a new home this year, so you will need to create a new username and password.

I want to register for the event, but I am not able to pay the $25 registration fee. Can I still attend?

Yes! If you are not able to afford the registration fee, feel free to come and enjoy the event without registering. You can also print off the Offline Donation Form, and ask your friends and family to help you raise money for the Walk to End Hunger.

Donation Questions

Where do the funds from the Walk go?

Since it's inception in 2008, the Walk to End Hunger has raised over $1.2 million to help suport hunger relief organizations working to eliminate hunger in the Twin Cities metro area. 100% of the net proceeds are distributed to our partner organizations. You can see our full list of these organizations here.

Do I have to raise $100 to be able to walk?

No, we suggest a goal of $100 per person to increase your impact on Hungry Minnesotans. And, if you raise $100 you will receive a free event t-shirt. Registration costs are included in total raised.

Are donations on the website secure?

Yes, all donation and registration information on our website is secure. When you get to a screen that asks for private information (contact and payment information), you will see that it shifts to a https://secure site.

I have received some donations in the form of checks or cash, what should I do with them?

You can mail the checks into us at: Walk to End Hunger, 555 Park St. Ste 400, St. Paul, MN 55103. Please enclose a note for us with your name, or team name, so we can credit the donations to you.
