Mission Statement
The Zack Heger Foundation was founded for and now remains in memory of Zack Heger who struggled and lost his long and brave battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy May 3, 2022 at age 29.
While the ZHF mission was initially founded to fund a cure for DMD and improve the lives of those with MD, we have shifted our purpose to focus on methods of improving accessibility and inclusivity to all people.

Zack Heger meant the world to me, and every one of us who knew him is better for it. In his life and in his passing, Zack reminds us of the stuggles of those who live with disabilities. He also reminds us that each day is a gift, and that we have a choice on how we face the world: his choice was to face it with that glorious smile. I’m running for Zack and for all those who cannot, and I hope to honor him and bring awareness to our friends with disabilities.
