Dear Friends of The Dream Factory,

The Dream Factory is home to four wonderful dragon boat festivals every year! We continue to be proudly partnered with the MB Paddling  Association to keep dragon boating a big part of Manitoba summers (and winters)!

As you will notice, each festival is unique, safe and tons of fun! They are also fantastic opportunities for corporate team building, getting family or   friends together, or just making an excuse to spend some more time outside.

These festivals are so important to us because they will enable us to make even more Dreams come true for Manitoba kids this year! That’s more trips to Disney, more bedroom makeovers, more shopping sprees, and more hope and laughter during some incredible difficult times. But we need    your help to do it! *

We’re asking our friends and supporters to consider grabbing a paddle this summer (or winter) and help make more dreams come true for kids with life-threatening illnesses across our province.

Never paddled before? Don’t worry! Two practice sessions (with an experienced coach) and all necessary equipment are included with your registration. All you have to do is get your team together, register and we'll help with the rest!

All registration fees cover the cost of the festivals, all donations and pledges gathered are used make more Dreams Come True. All money raised stays in Manitoba.

About The Dream Factory:

For 35 years, The Dream Factory has been bringing dreams to life for Manitoba kids facing life-threatening illnesses. In that time, over 700 dreams have come true – ranging from incredible trips, celebrity meet & greets, bedroom makeovers, and shopping sprees.

When a child is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, the real world can quickly become a scary place. It is their dreams that remind them what it means to be a kid – and it’s our job to try and bring that feeling to life for the child and their family.

The process is simple – once a child has qualified for and chosen their dream, we look after every detail. From pick-up at home, to spending money and even the occasional surprise, the dream is truly an opportunity to focus on just being a kid. It’s a much-needed break from the stresses, worries, and very adult challenges that come along with their illness.

Our dreams are experienced not only by the child, but also by their immediate family. It’s important that the dreams are opportunities for families to be together and reset, recharge, or celebrate.

The Dream Factory was the first dream granting organization in Canada. We are also the only organization of our kind to provide financial support to families to help address the financial burden that can accompany having a sick child. Our family funds ($2000 per family) are designed to alleviate some of the financial stresses associated with time off work, hospital parking, meal expenses, etc.

For many of our families, the dream has been their first opportunity to travel without attending a medical conference or clinical trial. For those families that tragically lose their child, these dreams create some of the best and only “carefree” moments that they have together.

Your support and participation in the Dream Factory Dragon Boat Festivals will allow us to make even more dreams come true in 2019!
