Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Lowcountry Buddy Walk 2026 - DSAL’s largest community event of the year, bringing together individuals with Down syndrome, their families, friends, sponsors, and supporters for a joyful day of celebration, connection, and awareness.
Volunteers help make this event possible. Your time and energy directly support our DSAL families and help create a meaningful experience for our entire community.
Details of Volunteer Roles
- Volunteer hours are available on the day of the Buddy Walk, Sunday, October 18th from 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
- Shifts range from 1 hour to a full day and you may sign up for multiple shifts!
- Roles may include: Setup, Parking, Greeters, Registration, Activity stations from jump castles to arts & crafts, Food/beverage support, Photography, Clean-up, General event support.
- Volunteers needing service hours are welcome. Please bring or email any required service hour form for signature.
- You may volunteer with a friend, family member, school group, business, or organization. The registration form includes a place to note if you want to be paired with someone
Volunteer Contribution
Please note that we kindly request a $10 contribution from volunteers to help cover the cost of your Buddy Walk T-shirt (which also allows access to the entire event). This allows us to ensure that the money raised through the event goes directly back to supporting local individuals with Down syndrome and their families throughout the Tri-County Lowcountry region. If this $10 donation is a barrier to volunteering at our event, please contact dsalowcountry@gmail.com directly.
