Our journey with epilepsy started Dec 27, 2015. Mathew, 7yrs old, was getting his boots on for church. He all of a sudden fell backwards and started convulsing on the floor. With his dad by his side, I managed to call 911. Now I had seen a friend have a seizure before and was cool, calm and collected. My son having a seizure, I was all over the place! My head was scattedsc and time stood still. My son rode in an ambulance to children's. They did some tests but ultimately let us go with no clue why the seizure happened. After his second seizure, Jan 21st, he was diagnosed with epilepsy. Mathew has had 4 full seizures and a few partial(start of a seizure) episodes. I thank God every day my son is seizure free.
