All proceeds from this year’s 5K will benefit the UHM Foundation, equipping families with the tools and resources to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Since 2015, the Foundation has given over $1 million to programs and nonprofits in the areas of financial literacy, education, career readiness and housing. My pillar of support this year is Financial Literacy: We offer 6 Financial Literacy Workshops in our Communities, in addition to an online digital resource library to learn about everything from budgeting, credit, homeownership, student loans and more.
 

Literacy, no matter the subject is very near and dear to my heart, because everyone deserves access to endless amounts of knowledge.
