On Sunday, March 3, 2024 I will participate in the 2024 Chicago Polar Plunge, one of the city's most popular winter fundraising events! I am excited to take on the challenge of the Chicago Polar Plunge and jump into Lake Michigan’s chilly waters to support thousands of Chicagoans who participate in Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children’s Charities programs.
I plunge to raise awareness and access to sports, fitness, and fun for all those with disabilities. Colleen and Scott Schaefers have been a great example to me, through their example of patience and unconditional love for their beautiful 8 year daughter Eileen Grace. Colleen and Scott have shown me the good that can spread when we all let our guards down, recognize what really matters (love and acceptance of all), and see the good in each and every person we encounter. Jumping in Lake Michigan in the winter is sort of like that......letting our guards down, accepting the crazy, and experiencing the joy that can come from doing something out of the ordinary together.
