I had high blood pressure from the very start of my second pregnancy with my second son. It was a constant battle of medications and checking my blood pressure daily and multiple hospitalizations due to this ever going issue. I ultimately went into labor early at 37 weeks and he was born with respiratory distress syndrome because his lungs were not as developed as they should be. I was put in an IV medication for preeclampsia that kept me bedwritten for 24 hours and unable to hold my child. This was an extremely scary time in which I cried about 22 hours out of the day and needed to be somewhat sedated for. My son was in the NICU for 13 days and I am so lucky this was such a shorter time than others. But it nearly broke me. Having a high risk pregnancy is terrifying. Putting your body in danger for your child is something I would easily do time and time again. That's the strength of a mother.
