Event Registration:

In addition to making life better for kids with cancer, your event registration includes:

  • race bib
  • participant t-shirt
  • finisher's medal
  • chip timing (for runners participating in-person)

*Online registration closes on Wednesday, May 13th at 11:59PM.

*Walk-up registration will be available during early packet pick-up and the morning of the event.

Walker:

  • Early-Bird (Before Saturday, January 31st): $35
  • Regular: $45
  • Walk-Up: $55

Youth (5 & under): Free!

  • No swag. Does not include a t-shirt, bib or medal.

Kid's Donut Dash: 

  • Kids ages 10 & under are invited to participate in a 50 yard sprint to earn a tasty treat!  All participants receive a donut!

  • Kids ages 5-10 registered for the ASK 5K or Fun Walk automatically receive Donut Dash access at no extra cost.

  • Kids ages 5 & under can participate for just $10!

 

Virtual:

Virtual Registration (Mailed Packet): $40

  • If you can't make it to CarMax Park on Saturday, May 16th, join us virtually and walk wherever you are! Gather friends and family to get outside and support children with cancer in our community. Choose "Virtual 5K" when you register here.

  • Virtual participants are encouraged to register by Friday, May 1st to allow enough time for their race bibs, participant t-shirts, and finisher’s medals to be mailed and arrive before race day.

Virtual 5K participants can run/walk/bike their 5K route any time. Be sure to share on social media with #MoreThanAWalk!

Course, Parking, and Road Closures:

Participants can expect to start at CarMax Park and take off to nearby neighborhoods for a 3.1 mile walk/run before making their way back to receive their medal. Water stops and spirit stations are at each mile marker.

3.1 miles too far?  For the first time this year, participate in the "Fun Loop" option and walk the concourse of CarMax Park instead!  3 laps = 1 mile.  Walk as much or as little as you like!

The ASK 5K & Fun Walk course is great for setting a PR (personal record) for fastest time or for having the most fun! Runners, walkers, and strollers are welcomed. 


Parking

Be sure to arrive before 8:30 AM to park and enjoy the pre-race festivities. Parking is available in the Green Lot.  Click here for a parking map.
 

Temporary Road Closures

There will be temporary road closures to keep you safe along the course!  Roads will open back up after all participants have cleared that area.

Road Closures:

  • 1200-1600 block Palmyra Ave (South Side) between Brook & Hermitage Road
  • 2900-3500 block Brook Road (South Bound Side) between Sherwood & Palmyra Ave.
  • 1200-1600 block Sherwood Ave (Both Sides) between Brook & Hermitage Road

Pre-Race & Post-Race Festivities:

8AM Pre-Race Festivities

Arrive early to participate in games, activities, some of your favorite characters, music and a spirit station to get you ready for your 3.1 mile run/walk! 

8:45AM Kid's Donut Dash

The Kid's Donut Dash will include two waves: 5 & under and 6-10.  Every kid that participates receives a donut!

9AM Awards Ceremony

We will recognize Top Fundraising Teams and Individuals as well as the award for Largest Team and Most Spirited Team!

After you cross the finish line...

The celebration continues at the Post-Race Festivities, featuring a live band, water and snacks, and kids' activities! Don't miss the awards for the top 5K finishers, the Moment of Remembrance and cheering on our ASK Kourageous Kids during their inspiring victory lap on the field!
