Hi! My name is Maddie, and this is my fifth year as a Biking for Babies missionary — something I still can’t quite believe. I continue to return to this mission because I have witnessed, time and time again, the beautiful fruit it bears. As Scripture reminds us, “a good tree bears good fruit,” and Biking for Babies is deeply rooted in goodness. Year after year, I see that fruit in the lives touched, the friendships formed, and the faith strengthened through this mission.
This year, I am riding for my family and for the strengthening of families everywhere. Biking for Babies reflects the influence of both of my grandparents — my grandmother’s lifelong commitment to the pro-life movement and my grandfather’s joy for the ride. Over the past five years, my own family has embraced this mission in extraordinary ways: hosting missionaries in their homes, helping organize Mass and meals during the National Ride, and offering their time, prayers, and financial support. Their generosity has been a constant reminder of how vital a loving support system truly is. I know that I would not be able to carry out this mission- or bear its fruit- without them walking alongside me every step of the way.
Supporting pregnancy centers and maternity homes matters deeply to me because they provide that same support and steadfast love to women facing unplanned pregnancies- the same love that my own family has given me. Family should be a place where life is protected, encouraged, and nutured. Pregnancy centers step into that role for women who may not yet have that support. Choosing life can feel overwhelming and frightening, but it becomes so much more possible when women know they are loved, supported, and not alone.
