Hello there! My name is Dom and this year is my first year as riding missionary for Biking for Babies. I'm originally from Colorado and I've been in the Denver Metro area for most of my life. I grew up doing everything I could outdoors such as hiking, backpacking, climbing, and skiing. I've always felt a special connection with God in the outdoors. I joined the Marine Reserves shortly after high school and once I completed my training I enrolled at at the University of Colorado Denver. At CU I rebuilt my faith and reconnected with Christ on a personal level through FOCUS. I'm currently on track to graduate this May, and I'm making the transition from the Marines to the National Guard as well.
I was first introduced to Biking for Babies by a few Catholics that I used to cycle with about a year ago. After their introduction I was able to attend a men's night at Most Precious Blood parish in Denver and a Biking for Babies missionary gave us his testimony. It was in this moment, through the intercession of the Holy Spirit, that I realized that Biking for Babies was the nexus between my love for Christ, and my love for life that I had been looking for. Christ calls us to make disciples of all nations, and demands of us that we defend life. By uniting our suffering on the national ride with Christ's suffering, as well as the suffering of all mothers and babies lost to abortion, we can renew the culture of life in the womb and beyond the womb, in a world plagued by the culture of death. Biking for Babies not only gives me the opportunity to create a more personal relationship with Christ, but enables me to make an impact in the lives of expecting and unsure mothers, as well as their babies, through the spreading of the Gospel of life and the support of pregnancy resource centers nation wide.
Join me in Biking for Babies' mission by making a gift towards my fundraising campaign. Your gift supports our mission to renew the culture of life by forming young adult missionaries and raising awareness and funds for pregnancy resource centers that support pregnant women across the country.
Christ shares these final words with us,
Matthew 28:19-20
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.
