Liam’s Promise was created in honor of our son, Liam, who was born at 32 weeks after I developed preeclampsia during pregnancy.

But this team is about much more than one family’s story.

Preeclampsia can turn an otherwise expected pregnancy into a frightening and uncertain experience in a matter of days. It can mean hospitalization, premature delivery, a NICU stay, and a very different beginning to parenthood than a family imagined.

We walk to raise awareness of preeclampsia, support research, and stand alongside the women and families whose pregnancies and lives have been affected by it.

We also walk for the women who are currently in the middle of it. The ones sitting in a hospital room wondering what happens next. The ones facing an early delivery. The ones bringing home a baby who still needs extra care. And the ones who are months or years past it but still carry the experience with them.

Liam’s story is one of many. We created this team because we want to bring some of those stories together.
