Your gift allows us to answer families' calls, 365 days a year, to help them navigate the diagnosis, caregiving, and bereavement journey, and to offer hope by supporting research towards a cure.
With your gift, the CJD Foundation can:
- Assist those struggling to obtain a diagnosis or adjust to caregiving.
- Offer referrals, programs, and a robust set of resources to newly diagnosed patient families.
- Arrange medical education and funeral education in communities around the U.S.
- Regularly visit Capitol Hill to ensure policymakers understand the impact of CJD, and how they can help.
- Communicate with drug developers and connect them with the voices of patients and caregivers.
- Fund research each year to advance the understanding of prion disease mechanisms and bring us a step closer to a treatment and a cure.
In January 2026, the CJD Foundation awarded more than $800,000 in research grants and fellowships to 10 scientists, bringing the total to almost $7 million awarded to prion disease research. This summer, a new group of scientists will apply for funding, and with your help we will once again fund the top-rated grant applications.
