I’m participating in the New Hope Community 5K Run / Walk / Roll to support a community where people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are seen, valued, and empowered to live full lives.
New Hope is about connection and possibility: friendships, independence, confidence, and community belonging. The funds raised through this event help strengthen the programs and experiences that make those things real.
My connection to New Hope is my daughter Gabby. She has lived there for over two years now. This mission matters to me because everyday people like my daughter wake up and need a purposeful place to go where people who care about them help them respectfully go through their day doing something they enjoy doing. They live in a home where people help support them with their daily needs and treat them with respect and dignity. Each day they should feel safe and cared for.
