Please donate to my virtual school supply drive!
There's Never Been a Greater Need. Like so many of you, Jane and I are worried about not just our own kids, but the many children in our community who are really struggling as we go into this school year. This is just one way we want to help. Thank you for your support.
Inspired by Hillside Hunger Drive. Every year our street comes alive with holiday lights, cars full of people and a food drive that collects thousands of pounds of food. Inspired by that, and realizing the need for school supplies for children that will be learning virtually, I organized a virtual school supply drive.
Classroom Central equips students in need to effectively learn by collecting and distributing free school supplies to their teachers. We serve teachers and students in nearly 200 schools across six school districts in the Charlotte Region.
While most of our region’s students will be learning remotely, a computer with wifi isn’t the only supply they’ll need. Remote students will still take notes with pens, pencils and paper. They’ll need pocket folders, binders, and backpacks to stay organized. And they’ll take art class with crayons, markers, and glue. Remote learning has actually increased our community’s need for supplies because classrooms can no longer share materials, and now even more families are experiencing financial hardships. See how Classroom Central is taking action this year by reading their FAQs.
Donate to our virtual supply drive to help Classroom Central prepare 127,000 local students for back to school.
