We are representing the Michigan Council of the Blind and Visually Impaired (MCBVI) an affiliate of the American Council of the Blind (ACB)!

This is the first year MCBVI is participating in the ACB Brenda Dillon Memorial Walk. Taking place on July 18. This is a fundraiser which will benefit both MCBVI and ACB. Fifty percent of the funds we raise will go to ACB and the other will go to MCBVI!

I joined MCBVI in 2010 at the coaxing of some of my friends. I did not know what would be in store for me, but I have learned so much from being a part of this organization!

I have learned advocating skills, how to be a leader, and much more!

Starting the Michigan Apple Blossoms team for our affiliate is one way I can try and give something back to an organization that has given me so much in return!

Thanks to many members within MCBVI who took a chance on me and saw the potential I did not know was there, I am an active and vital member of MCBVI. I hold a variety of positions and continue to learn and grow in my advocacy for issues of concern to those within the blind and visually impaired communities.

More importantly are the friendships and support I have received over the years, and I hope I have been supportive in return!

I am excited to be working on this fundraiser and I appreciate any donation made no amount is too small.
