Due to the forecasted inclement weather, we have made the decision to reschedule the Optimism Walk & 5K Fun Run to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants.
The event will now be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Warwick City Park. The event timing will remain the same.
This change was not made lightly, and we look forward to celebrating together under safer and more welcoming conditions. We appreciate your understanding, flexibility, and continued support. Please help us spread the word by sharing this update with your networks. Any additional event details and reminders will be communicated as we get closer to the new date.

2026 Rhode Island Optimism Walk & 5K Fun Run for Parkinson's
Join us for the APDA Optimism Walk & 5K Fun Run!
Walkers will come together nationwide in 2026 to step forward in support of all people affected by Parkinson's disease. Your fundraising dollars at the Rhode Island Optimism Walk & 5k Fun Run for Parkinson's will go directly to the local community, expanding programs and services to help more people with Parkinson's disease live life to the fullest, and funding cutting-edge research to find better treatments and ultimately a cure.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2026
Time:
9:30 am - Check-in and pre-event activities
10:30 am - 5K Fun Run begins
- The Fun Run is an unofficial 5k route; small prizes will be presented to the first male, first female, and first youth across the finish line!
11:30 am - Optimism Walk begins
12:30 pm - Lunch to follow: Catered by Dave's Market
1:00 - 1:30 pm - Awards & Raffle Winners announced last
