My Personal Fundraising Page

Having a bicycle has been a part of my life since I was 10 years old.

As a child it was how I visited my best friend Vinnie when he moved to the next town over. It was how my friends and I  went fishing at the canal that was too far to walk. It was how I delivered the late edition of the Long Island Press to the waiting subscribers on that sad Novenber night in 1963.

As a young adult it got me to work when my car failed and the repair budget was lacking. It was a fair weather commuting option through my working career. It carried me on a tour through my grandparents homeland in Sicily. Now it is mostly for entertainment and exercise.

In short, it has been a source of access to the things important to me that was affordable and maintainable. It allowed me to maintain friendships, keep a job, spread news, see the world and maintain my health.

I ride to raise funds so that others can share the simple gift that I have been able enjoy: a bicycle.
