Building a Healthier Tomorrow: Care Resource’s Capital Fund in Action

Our Vision

To expand our continuum of health services in response to the growing needs of the underserved and hard-to-reach populations of South Florida.

For over four decades, Care Resource Community Health Centers have evolved to meet the needs of our growing underserved communities. As a Federally Qualified Health Center with four primary locations in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, we’ve initiated renovations, expansions, and new building acquisitions to address the significant and growing needs of our service area.

“Building for the Future” Capital Fund: Filling gaps in federal, state, and local funding, our Building for the Future Capital Fund relies on private donations to support the most crucial areas of our capital improvement program. Over the past four years, we’ve undertaken the following capital expansion projects:

  1. Renovation of our Ft. Lauderdale Health Center, including the addition of a Behavioral Health Annex to establish a new Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for individuals with mental health and substance abuse disorders.
  2. Transformation of our Midtown Miami Health Center, doubling its square footage and patient capacity. This expansion includes a new pediatrics unit and a comprehensive range of preventive and social support services, now directly accessible to patients through our Food for Life Network’s Food Pantry and Nutritional Center. Please contact Jonathan Welsh for available room naming opportunities.
  3. Relocation of our Little Havana Health Center to a larger facility, doubling patient outreach, expanding access to clinical, social, and nutritional services, and significantly improving health outcomes for minority, uninsured, and underinsured individuals. Scheduled to open soon.
  4. Addressing the growth of our Broward Behavioral Health Services, a new dedicated Behavioral Health Center is in the planning stage. This new Center will comprehensively meet the medical and behavioral health needs of individuals, especially those in the MAT program, and will directly address the growing opioid epidemic in Broward County.

With these strategic expansions and renovations, Care Resource is committed to our history of caring for the most vulnerable in our communities, exemplifying our vision. Join us in bringing affordable healthcare to all. Your support makes a tangible difference in building a healthier future for South Florida.
