For those of you who know him, you know Josh is a silly, curious, talkative little boy. He loves puzzles and books, going to the zoo, and playing with his twin brother Jake. From the outside, he looks just like any other 3 year old.
But what you may not know is that Josh was diagnosed with a complex single ventricle heart defect a few hours after birth. His condition requires multiple procedures, tests, and surgeries. He underwent his first open-heart surgery at just 7 months old, and will have another one at some point in 2023.
There is no cure for congenital heart disease, and that's why I partiicpate in the Congenital Heart Walk. The mission of The Children's Heart Foundation is to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects by funding the most promising research -- and that research is what gives our family so much hope.
