We're Honoring Brent's 25 Years off Treatment With Free Books for Families

When a child is diagnosed with a histiocytic disorder, including those that are classified as cancer,  families face tremendous uncertainty.

Last year, I wrote three books to help young patients and their friends and relatives learn about histiocytosis and what to expect during and after treatment: Someone I Know Has Histio; Hold On, Henry; and Casey and the Messy Clean Up Crew.

The Histiocytosis Association provided them to families for free. The response was incredibly positive.

One young patient told me he would take the books to school the next day so his teacher and classmates would understand what he was experiencing.

A mother said the books helped her explain thie disorder and feel less alone.

To continue to provide these books at no cost, we need your help.

Your donation of just $15 will ensure one family receives all three books. Or, you can support two families for $30, and so on.. But really, your contribution of any size -- even one dollar -- will make a difference.

I wish we'd had resources like these when Brent was diagnosed in 1993 or at any time during his eight years of chemo, radiation and surgeries.

We're launching this fundraiser as part of our celebration of Histiocytosis Awareness Month and Brent's 25th year off treatment.

Thank you so much for your support.
