After being diagnosed with Epilepsy at 20 years old, my entire life as I knew it was flipped upside down. Before my diagnosis, I never imagined that one day my life could change so suddenly. In what felt like an instant, the life I knew was turned upside down. Things I once took for granted became things I had to think twice about. My independence, my plans, and my sense of security were all affected by a diagnosis I never expected to receive.

Epilepsy is more than just having seizures. It impacts every part of someone's life, often in ways that other people cannot see. There are fears, restrictions, uncertainty, and countless adjustments that come with learning to live with epilepsy.

While navigating this new diagnosis, The Epilepsy Foundation has been a source of education, comfort, support, and has offered a wealth of resources for not only myself but my family and friends as well.

I’m thrilled to be participating in the Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island Walk for Epilepsy, a fundraiser supporting Individuals like myself and families like mine effected by Epilepsy.
