Please join us in the fight against hunger in our community!  

Since 2015 we have brought at least (1) mobile pantry every month to the District 200 Wheaton area (some months we hold 2 mobiles) - that's 52 mobile pantries!  Each mobile costs $1,700 and provides 1-2 weeks of nutritious food to families, including: milk, eggs, meat, produce and various staples.  At these mobile events our volunteers - often teachers, staff and PTA members - distribute anywhere from 7,000 - 9,000 lbs. of food.  Our largest group of families to date was 190 families at one mobile event.  To date we have served over 5,200 families with these mobiles.  Unfortunately, the need is not going anywhere.  During January's polar vortex we had nearly 150 families come out to the mobile.  

One of the reasons we love these mobile pantries, is that they also help families that do not make the “cut” for government assistance programs but are still struggling with tough choices every day - rent or electricity?  medicine or food?  new gym shoes for growing feet or dinner?  85% of families in need have at least one adult working, yet they are still struggling to provide healthy food for their family on a regular basis.  We are giving them hope and the ability to keep their heads above water, at least for a little bit.  

Our yearly budget to bring a mobile pantry truck each month is $20,400, so the funds so generously gifted by our PTA's, businesses and friends like YOU, really, really provides a TON of hope!  Literally!
