Help us Build Homes with Families in Nepal!
The summer of 2019 brought together a group of individuals who all shared 2 common passions....cycling & serving others. We all became fast friends as we spent countless hours riding our bikes across the country while serving several families along the way with their housing project needs. Our little group developed a close bond and though we live in various places from the Atlantic to the Pacific, we remain in regular contact & see one another when we can.
Many of us were planning to ride together again this summer, but along with the rest of the world, plans have been changed as events continue to be canceled or postponed. So we decided to become Global Builders & form a virtual team, to raise money collectively while riding our miles individually.
The annual Fuller Center for Housing Bike Adventures raise the largest portion of the money used for the work of building & repairing homes within 70 communities in the US and currently in 20 foreign countries. Fuller Center works hard to keep in tack the dignity of those served by giving the recipients a hand up, not a hand out. For instance, a family who qualifies to receive a home via the Fuller Center will also put in the sweat equity by working alongside the team on build days.
The bike adventures for 2020 have been canceled due to the coronavirus health concerns, which means that the money those adventures brought in are less than minimal at this point. Yet the need to fund the housing projects for the year ahead has not been canceled, and we are asking you to partner with us by making a donation toward funding a single house.
Some fast facts about the Global Building Program..... the average basic home costs $5,500 to build. Families are selected by Fuller Center based on need, ability to repay, and willingness to partner with us. The home owners will incur a mortgage based on their income that they are required to pay, and they may not resell the home for profit.
Typically, homes are being built throughout the year in various places by Fuller Center volunteers. But this year because of travel restrictions and the global health crisis, the building will be done in each location by locals only.
Now for the crunch....would you join Team - The Young and the Rest of US in building a home? We know that right now is a very, very difficult time for everyone, and it's difficult for us to even ask for donations. But we, as a team, as friends, as family, are committing to continue to do what we can for families in need of a home. We might be restricted from physically serving, but just because we can't travel doesn't mean we can't make a difference in the world...together.
Please click the Donate Now button to the right and make that difference for someone in need. Every dollar counts!
Check our page often to see how many miles we are collectively riding and our financial goal being reached!
Thank you
