Inclusion values diversity and the unique contributions each person brings to the table. In a truly inclusive setting, every person feels a sense of belonging and are able to take part in decisions that affect them. Inclusion benefits everyone involved: it helps to develop friendship skills, peer models, problem solving skills, positive self-image, and respect for others. This can trickle down to family members as well, teaching parents and families to be more accepting of differences.
At Keshet we respect diversity, enable participation, remove barriers and anticipate and consider a variety of learning needs and preferences. Everyone has a place at Keshet and I hope you'll support my efforts to raise funds so that we can provide recreational and camp programming, educational opportunities, residential housing and services to more families in the greater Chicago area.
