I stumbled into the world of Mindfulness through my work as an Occupational Therapist in mental health. I identify as a person living with mental illness, but I strive to take care of myself and to provide a caring support to all I encounter.
I went through a tough time just before and during the pandemic. Finding mindfulness provided me a safe space free of judgement to nurture myself. It was uninterrupted me time. Mindfulness has allowed me to pause, even briefly in the chaos of everyday life. Long enough to be curious and question what is going on internally: do I need to respond right away? What does this serve?
I have come into contact with many people personally and professionally where mindfulness has provided similar skills and has played a part of their healing and/or journey to wellness. I hope my story and jouney can assist and impact more people for years to come.
