Why I MOVE for CASA...

Hi everyone!

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, and it is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and youth in foster care by providing trained volunteers who advocate for their best interests in court and in life. Through my sorority at UC Santa Cruz, Kappa Alpha Theta, CASA is our philanthropy, and it has truly opened my eyes to how impactful this organization is. Both National CASA and CASA of Santa Cruz County make such a meaningful difference in the lives of foster youth by providing stability, guidance, and a consistent, caring adult presence.

Move for CASA is our annual event where we partner with CASA of Santa Cruz County to bring our community together to stay active while raising awareness and funds for this incredible cause. As Vice President of External Affairs for Kappa Alpha Theta, I have the privilege of overseeing our philanthropic efforts, and Move for CASA is one of the most meaningful events we host. I move for CASA because every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and advocated for. CASA volunteers help ensure that foster youth are not alone in navigating such critical moments in their lives, and being part of this mission has shown me just how important it is to uplift and support these children.

Please feel free to MOVE FOR CASA ON MAY 2ND! Even if you are not able to donate, you can still support the youth of Santa Cruz County by MOVING!
