At UC Santa Cruz, Kappa Alpha Theta is proud to support CASA of Santa Cruz County through year-round philanthropy, service, and community involvement. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) works to support children and youth in foster care by providing trained advocates who ensure they have a voice, stability, and access to the resources they need.
Each year, we participate in Move for CASA, coming together as a chapter to stay active while raising awareness and funds for this incredible cause. Last year, we hosted a volleyball event, and this year we are excited to bring our community together through a Pilates and yoga class instructed by our very own Thetas.
Beyond Move for CASA, our chapter is continuously involved with CASA of Santa Cruz County. We regularly volunteer at the CASA house, assisting with mailing efforts and supporting events like IMAGINE. We also host our signature annual philanthropy event, our largest fundraiser of the year, last year’s Carnival for CASA, and this year’s upcoming Rock for CASA, a concert-style event featuring local performers, with proceeds benefiting CASA and the Theta Foundation.
Our commitment to CASA is rooted in creating meaningful impact, raising awareness, and supporting foster youth in our local community.
