Wombmates Inaugural 2022 Chicago Marathon Journey

In the search for another activity to participate in together in our 38th year we thought you know what, why not, let's run a marathon.  So for our inaugural Chicago Marathon journey we've decided to support and fundraise for Becky's workplace the Northern Illinois Food Bank to race towards a future where every neighbor has the food they need to thrive.  

The Food Bank has been responding to the increased need in our communities, which remains elevated due to the effects of COVID-19. In their latest fiscal year (July 2020-June 2021), the Food Bank has helped provide over 100 million meals to the community.

Please join us in making a difference in the lives of the thousands of people in Northern Illinois who are hungry. The funds we raise will stay right here, in our backyard, and will fill an empty plate of a hungry neighbor. 

Your Donation Makes an Impact:

  + Every $1 donated helps provide $8 worth of groceries for neighbors in need

  + 97% of the Food Bank's resources go to programs that feed neighbors in need

  + The Food Bank serves 13 counties in Northern Illinois, providing the equivalent of nearly 220,000 meals each day

Please consider joining us on the course or supporting us with a donation that will help us reach our goal to provide groceries to our community.  Our combined goal is $2500.00 and any donation is hugely appreciated.

We appreciate you supporting us (even though you may have doubts about us finishing - JK). This is a bucket list item for both of us and this organization means a lot to us and we are grateful to be a part of this team.
