In support of the Northern Illinois Food Bank

The Northern Illinois Food Bank is on a mission to provide nutritious food and resources for our neighbors, with dignity, equity and convenience,
through partnerships and innovation. And I couldn't be more excited to support this mission by joining the team for the 2022 Chicago Marathon.

If you know me, you know that I'm passionate about running and exploring new cities while I do it. This will be my 9th marathon and 8th new city to explore through running. Being able to support this organization while exploring Chicago for the 1st time makes it that much more special.

Why support the Northern Illinois Food Bank?

This amazing organization provides 250,000 meals every single day - and in the last year, provided over 100 million meals to the community.

They do this by bringing together manufacturers, local and corporate grocers, area farmers, corporations, foundations, and individuals who donate food and funding, and each week nearly 1,000 volunteers help evaluate, repack, and distribute food. And they continue to step up to support the increase need in their communities.

When you contribute to the Northern Illinois Food Bank, your contribution goes directly in support of their mission:

+ Every $1 donated helps provide $8 worth of groceries

+ 97% of the Food Bank's resources go to programs that feed neighbors in need

+ The Food Bank serves 13 counties in Northern Illinois, providing the equivalent of nearly 220,000 meals each day
