More than 1,000 youth experience homelessness in St. Joseph County every year. We hear of child homelessness and poverty all the time throughout the country. We want so bad for it to just disappear. But that doesn't happen unless we approach it city by city, community by community, and neighborhood by neighborhood.

I am grateful to have the opportunity to participate in Over the Edge, an event that raises funds and awareness for the Youth Service Bureau of St. Joseph County. My goal for this event is to reach $1,000 by October 1st. If you're someone that typically gets me something for my birthday, don't! Instead would you consider donating to help make a difference in the lives of youth in our own backyard?
