Hi all! My name is Taylor! ✨

I transitioned from teaching to become the Youth Programs Coordinator at the Humane Society of Charlotte in July of last year, two weeks before we held our first Summer Camp at HSC! It has been a whirlwind creating new programs, meeting children and their families, learning and sharing about HSC's mission, animal care, safety and advocacy for all pets. But most of all it has been amazing to get to see behind-the-scenes of HSC and all the work they do on behalf of people and pets. It's not just about helping animals find their furever homes but there's so much work done to keep animals with their families, support pet owners, and educate the community on best animal practices.

I adopted my new cat, Rhaenyra (aka Nyra), from HSC in the beginning of November and couldn't be happier with the newest addition to our little family. My cat Tyrion took a little time to get used to her but now they are playing together, grooming each other, and nuzzling. I've seen a more playful side come out of my shy Tyr with her around. Something I think we have both missed since my cat Meeko's death. 

As HSC staff, we have been charged to lead the way with donations for our 2023 Pet Palooza and I'm on team Karma Cats (in honor of famous cat-lover Taylor Swift... If you don't get the reference go listen to her song Karma.. who doesn't want cats purring in laps?). ✨

Your donation goes to continue the amazing work of HSC to help both people and pets. More than just putting animals like Nyra into homes, the money also goes to aid education, programs, clinic services, community outreach, food bank, etc. Thank you for your support!
