Register. Fundraise. Make a Difference

Join us for PetsWALK on Saturday, June 6th!

Lace up your sneakers and get ready for PetsWALK, presented by Animal Emergency & Specialty Center – a family-friendly fun run for everyone! Whether you're walking with or without a dog, this event is for you.

The race begins at Lion's Park and follows a scenic route with water views and a mostly flat course along Liberty Bay in Downtown Poulsbo. PetsWALK offers two course options: a 5K for those ready to go the distance or a 1-mile option for a shorter walk. Pets are welcome but not required.

After the walk/run, join us at the Finn-ish Line Festival at Muriel Iverson Williams Waterfront Park for a vendor fair, live music, and pet contests like Talent, Costume, and Wiggle-Butt competitions (sign up at the pavilion).

By participating and fundraising, you're helping us reach our goal of $50,000 to provide comfort and expert medical care to thousands of animals in Kitsap County. Your support ensures each pet receives the care they need to become strong, healthy, and ready to be adopted into loving homes.

Meet our PetsWALK 2026 spokespets, Charlie & Harley!

Charlie and Harley are two wonderful kitties who arrived at KHS under very different circumstances. Harley was found as a kitten in 2021, all alone on the sidewalk in Port Orchard, He weighed just over one pound at an estimated 6 weeks old. He was barely responsive and the vet services team thought he might not survive, until they realized he was completely deaf. With one blue eye and one green eye, tiny Harley went off to a KHS foster family and after almost two months of constant love and additional medical care, his quirky personality surfaced and his foster parents had their first official "foster fail".

Charlie was brought to KHS in 2022 by a good samaritan who found him wandering the streets with his chin literally hanging off his lower jaw. In spite of this injury, Charlie was described as "alert, sweet, constantly purring" by the vet services staff. He had expert surgery to reattach his lower chin and was ultimately adopted, then returned because he had a cough. Harley's foster parents were happy to take in Charlie as a medical foster over the Christmas holiday, and the rest is history - foster fail number two!

Want to see your pet(s) featured next year? Any individual who raises $1,000 or more, or any team that raises $2,500 or more, will be entered into a drawing for the chance to have their pet be a star at next year’s PetsWALK!
