People often assume the hardest part of working in animal welfare is seeing animals in need. That's certainly part of it.

What's harder is knowing that for every animal we help, there are more still waiting.

That's why I'm walking in Paws in the Park on September 26.

At the SPCA, I see every day how much it takes to provide shelter, medical care, behavioral support, cruelty investigations, and second chances for animals across Erie County. I also see what can happen when a community comes together to help.

A neglected dog becomes a beloved companion. A frightened cat finds a home. An injured animal gets the care it needs. Those outcomes are possible because people choose to support this mission.
