My Personal Fundraising Page

Thank you for supporting Make-A-Wish! I am deeply grateful for your donation because A WISH GRANTED takes a child and family outside of the daily stress and turmoil of managing a critical medical condition. Children and families are given HOPE for the future in the form of a WISH that positively impacts the physical, emotional, and psychological well being. A child that has a WISH has a measurable change in their outlook that medications and treatments can't provide. By GRANTING A WISH we are connecting directly with children and families struggling at a very difficult time and communicating our love and support!

A wish is a prescription for the soul and your support helps a Virginia child at a time when it's needed most.

About Jenny Courain:

Jenny was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University School of Arts where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. She is the proud mom to her daughter Lida (16) and son Henry (14). She is passionate about practicing yoga, creating art, writing, attending live music events, enjoying culinary adventures, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She recently became engaged to Carlisle Bannister and looks forward to sharing this experience with him.  When asked why she accepted the role of honoree, Jenny responded: “I strongly believe the intentions behind a wish propels children and their families into a different mind frame that can powerfully alter the outcome of a critical medical condition. Wishes granted lift the spirits and shift the focus in a direction of hope.” She further shared that “It is such an honor to serve Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia because dollars raised go directly to local children and families in need. On a more personal level, this organization and their mission is near and dear to my heart. I can deeply relate to what families are enduring having grown up with my severely brain damaged brother, Michael Courain, and the round the clock care, revolving hospital stays, and visits required to manage his health. I know firsthand the depressing toll it can take not only on the child, but the parents and siblings alike. While my family didn't experience Make-A-Wish, the times that we could get away made us feel like a normal family again which helped to keep us positive and motivated. A wish can have transformative benefits, not only for the child, but also the parents and siblings that experience the repercussions of a child suffering from a critical medical condition.” Jenny is  passionate about giving back to her community and raising funds for MAW. She is excited to join forces with the dynamic group of women in this year’s Richmond W.I.S.H Circle to support a powerful mission that brings hope to children and families in our community.
