I am walking again in Walk a Mile in Their Shoes to raise money and awareness for SARC Harford County, the Sexual Assault/Spouse Abuse Resource Center. This event invites participants to literally walk a mile in high-heeled shoes to spark conversation and bring attention to the causes, effects, and solutions for sexual assault and domestic violence while raising funds to support SARC’s free resources, hope, and healing for victims and survivors in Harford County.

Each year my daughter picks out my shoes for the walk, and I proudly wear them as a reminder of why this cause matters so much. I am also looking forward to once again trying to bring home the best shoe award to help draw more attention and support for this important work.
