Patricia "Pat" Baldassarre known as an amazing wife, number one mother, over the moon GiGi, devoted sister, and loyal/kind friend was simply the best. She had a heart of gold and was always there for those around her. She spent 40 years of her life helping people in need as a social worker for local hospitals and nursing facilities. She was incredibly devoted to her family and was the best GiGi to her 3 grandchildren. They were the light in her eyes. She loved her golden retrievers "Mia and Cosmo" and was a lifelong, devoted Boston Sports fan. 

She started showing symptoms of this awful disease in March of 2018 and was ultimately diagnosed in July. Sadly, we watched her disappear a little each day until she lost her fight against CJD on November 12, 2018 (National CJD Awareness Day). We lost an amazing human being that day and our hearts are forever broken. We hope that by raising funds and awareness for CJD that eventually people will realize that this "one in a million" disease is not as rare as we once thought. It is present and it is deadly. We hope that by walking and raising funds that someday a cure will be found so that no family will have to watch their loved ones go through what our beautiful Mother, Wife, GiGi, sister, and friend went through.
