In all honesty, I hate running but I run for our beautiful daughter, Gabriela. I run to honor her memory. I run to numb the pain of her loss and my broken heart. I run to help adolescents like Gabriela who struggle to find joy and peace in this world, those who feel isolated and alone in their struggles. I run to stop the stigma, for the hope of inclusive and supportive school environments around mental health. I run to raise awareness about teenage depression and suicide prevention. And, I run for connection to Gabriela. Support me as I challenge myself to 26.2 miles because of the daughter I lost. Join me in the Erika's Lighthouse goal of: Never alone. Never again. Get depression out of the dark..

Erika's Lighthouse is determined to make sure no young person feels alone in their depression. We are dedicated to creating a community of empathy and education. We create middle school and high school teen depression awareness programs so educators and teens can create safe spaces to learn about depression, letting students know they are never alone, and there is somewhere to turn.
