Love these kids!

Education and school lunches give them a great start.

If I can help other people--that makes life worthwhile.

When I go to Haiti, I see lots of kids and families who have life very hard.  These parents make about $1/day. Some families have days when they cannot feed their children. Most parents cannot read. Some keep chickens, maybe a hog or a cow. Many keep gardens to feed their families and to sell produce at market, and some are sharecroppers.

On our April 2017 trip, I gave each Light and Peace School student a floride treatment, which most love. And then they watch me work with the next child, fascinated to see something new. Later, I led all the Trois Mares children in a game of Simon Says. After the floride treatments in Chapottin, I helped a bunch of local men build desk/benches for the school there. It was a great trip!

Thinking of all those kids again this fall, I know school is starting. I'm looking forward to packing lunches for them at Teaneck Packathon for Haiti on November 11. On that day, more than 700 volunteers will get together at Grace Lutheran Church in Teaneck to pack and provide 180,000 meals.

  • We can make sure more than 500 students in the LIght and Peace Schools in Trois Mares and Chapottin can count on lunch every weekday through 2018.
  • In addition to the lunches, our packathon will raise money to build composting school bathrooms as the parents requested.

All it takes is money and packers. I helped pack last year, this year I want to raise at least $2500 of the $65,000 needed.

Donate Now to help improve health, education and hygiene for the children of Trois Mares and Chapottin. It's an amazing opportunity to help other people who really need the help. I think you'll find it very worthwhile.

Best, "Dokte Bob" Wong, DDS
