On November 14 I will be #voicelss4animaljustice for you, for me, for future generations, for my family and for the billions who suffer horrifically in today's factory farms.
According to the Effective Altruism Organiation, who asks the question, "How can we use our resources to help others the most?" one of the greatest problems in the world today may be the suffering of animals in the meat industry (https://www.effectivealtruism.org/articles/cause-profile-animal-welfare/).
Added to this concern, we're in the middle of a pandemic the majority of the science community believes triggered by animal use (https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-00548-w), a pandemic forwarned by other zoonotic outbreaks, such as Ebola, SARS and H1N1, a pandemic in and of itself that may just be a warning of future, more devastating infections.
And we are facing a climate crisis. A crisis compounded by factory farming (https://insideclimatenews.org/news/22052017/factory-farms-cafos-threaten-climate-change-world-heath-organization).
Now, just as the world begins to wake up to this isssue, as Canada recognizes the increasing demand for plant-based protiens and invests in them (https://nrc.canada.ca/en/research-development/research-collaboration/programs/plant-based-protein-market-global-canadian-market-analysis), the animal industry lobby is pressuring the provincial governments to pass laws to hide the suffering none of us believe ethical.
But the lawyers at Animal Justice can help turn this around, to make a fair, transparent system beholden to the rule of law (where everyone is equal) instead of to whoever holds the most money.
